The armor provides additional mechanical protection and helps protect the fiber against rodent damage. The detachable end is factory-terminated and supplied with its green SC\/APC housing uninstalled, allowing the protected ferrule assembly to be pushed or pulled through holes as small as 4.5mm. After routing, the housing is assembled on site without tools, splicing or polishing. The opposite end features a fully assembled standard SC\/APC connector.
